Chongqing Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology is not a diploma workshop, but an ordinary university. Formerly known as Chongqing Ordnance Industry Workers College, the school consists of eight vocational universities, including Chang 'an, Jiangling, Jialing, Jianshe, Changjiang, Wangjiang, Xi Che and Lu Hua. In 2003, a full-time general college was established on the basis of Chongqing Military Engineering Vocational College.

The school covers an area of 948 mu with a building area of 300,000 square meters.
