The national mathematics competition for college students is held once a year.

In 2009, the Chinese College Students' Mathematics Competition (commonly known as the "National College Students' Mathematics Competition") was held. The first CMC was hosted by chinese mathematical society and hosted by National University of Defense Technology. Since then, CMC has been held once a year, which is undertaken by domestic universities.

The purpose of CMC is to stimulate college students' interest in learning mathematics, further promote the reform and construction of college mathematics courses, improve the teaching level of college mathematics courses, and discover and select innovative talents in mathematics. The participants in the Chinese University Mathematics Competition are sophomores and above.

Examination content:

Chinese college students' mathematics competitions are divided into mathematics professional competitions and non-mathematics professional competitions. Among them, the content of mathematics competition is the teaching content of basic courses for undergraduate mathematics majors, with mathematical analysis accounting for 50%, advanced algebra accounting for 35% and analytic geometry accounting for 15%.

Competition for non-mathematics majors is the teaching content of advanced mathematics courses for undergraduate science and engineering majors, including function, limit, continuity, calculus, vector algebra, spatial analytic geometry, infinite series and so on. However, from the fifth competition, the final competition increased the linear algebra of 15%-20%.
