University of Washington (UW), a public university located in Seattle, Washington, USA, is usually called Washington University in Seattle to distinguish it from Washington University in St. Louis. Founded in 186 1, it is the oldest university on the west coast of the United States and the largest university in the northwest of the United States. Six people won the Nobel Prize.
