Cultivating the patriotism of contemporary college students and enhancing their national defense awareness has always been the educational purpose of the National Defense Education Institute. In April 2006, after strict selection and hard training, the college established the first national flag guard class in colleges and universities in Liaoning Province, which was responsible for raising and lowering the national flag.
