Sun Yat-sen College of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, formerly known as Sun Wen College of Sun Yat-sen University, is a full-time undergraduate college approved by the former State Education Commission 1986. 1986,10/0 On October 20th, the school was formally established with the support of Sun Yat-sen University, Zhongshan Municipal Committee, Municipal Government and overseas Chinese Mr. Wu Guixian, becoming the first full-time ordinary institution of higher learning in Zhongshan, with Professor Yuan Weishi, a famous scholar, as the first president. At that time, the highest institution of learning in Zhongshan only set up three majors: English Department, Business Administration Department and Chinese Department to recruit local junior college students in Zhongshan.

The second stage: exploration period (1995 -2002)

1995165438+10, Sun Wen College of Sun Yat-sen University was independently established with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's Government, and was renamed as "Zhongshan College", which implemented a leadership management system of * * * with the city as the mainstay, and added applied chemistry, food packaging, agronomy, and so on to the original CUHK Sun Wen College. During the period of 2002 10, the Ministry of Education approved the merger with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and became an independent college in universities directly under the Ministry of Education. The third stage: growth period (2002-present)

On 2 1 May, 2002, Zhongshan Municipal People's Government signed a joint school-running agreement with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, the key construction project of "2 1 1" and "985 Project" directly under the Ministry of Education, and merged the former Sun Yat-sen College into the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. On February 6, the same year, 65438, Zhongshan College of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China was established, forming a multi-level and multi-form school-running pattern with electronic information technology as the core, science and engineering infiltration and the development of economics, management and literature. The University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and Zhongshan Municipal People's Government have established a new management mode and operation mechanism, with independent legal personality and relatively independent management. All the funds needed for the construction and development of the College are jointly raised by the Zhongshan Municipal People's Government and the College, and shared with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
