The school, formerly known as Hangzhou Institute of Technology affiliated to Zhejiang University, was established in 1980. It experienced the development stages of Hangzhou College affiliated to Zhejiang University and Hangzhou College of Applied Engineering and Technology, and was renamed Zhejiang Institute of Science and Technology in August 20001year.
Jiaxing College, in addition to Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, is also interested in applying for renaming Jiaxing College in the "Publicity on the First Batch of Universities to be Declared in 2023" issued by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education.
Jiaxing College was formerly known as Zhejiang University of Economics and Jiaxing College, which merged in March 2000 to form Jiaxing College. School economics, electronic information engineering, nursing, engineering management, accounting and clinical medicine were selected as national first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites.
