Xiamen University, referred to as Xiamen University for short, was founded in 192 1, located in Xiamen City, Fujian Province. It is a comprehensive research-oriented national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). Known as a strong southern university, it is a key construction university with two first-class projects: 2 1 1 and 985.

The school was selected into the National Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan 20 1 1 Plan, Excellent Legal Talents Education and Training Plan, Excellent Doctor Education and Training Plan, New Engineering Research and Practice Project, National Graduate Employment Typical Experience University, and the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
