China in a broad sense is surrounded by Viet Nam, Laos and Myanmar. China's neighboring countries are: Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, North Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, India, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

In a narrow sense, China's periphery is understood as the Asia-Pacific region formed by neighboring countries bordering China's land territory. ? Broadly speaking, it means the whole Asia-Pacific region.

Brief introduction to the surrounding contents of China

An Overview of China's Neighbouring Countries (hereinafter referred to as the Overview) was compiled by the Research Center for Relations between China and Neighbouring Countries of Fudan University (hereinafter referred to as the Research Center). The purpose of compiling "Overview" is to present readers with a new key to understand China's neighboring countries, and also to provide solid basic information and national conditions research for researchers of China's neighboring diplomacy.

Since the establishment of the research center in June 20 13, we have started the compilation of the database of China's neighboring countries and their relations with China (hereinafter referred to as the "database").

The database is supported by the National Collaborative Innovation Center for Territorial Sovereignty and Maritime Rights and Interests (20 1 1 Collaborative Innovation Center). It took three years to compile this database. The survey is the main achievement of the database.
