Hefei University of Technology is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). The Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Anhui Provincial Government have established universities, and the Ministry of Education and the National Defense Science and Technology Bureau have established universities. The school was founded in 1945, and 1960 was approved by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China as a national key university.
