Intensive reading requires students to choose 1-2 books (species) of various categories outside the professional field and read 10 books (species) among the books recommended by these measures. Every time you read a book (kind of book), you are required to write reading notes or essays of not less than 1500 words, or create literary works of more than 1500 words, and take the intensive reading graduation examination.
The assessment time is arranged in the second semester of students' first academic year, and the school organizes the proposition, composition and marking. Each college (department) is responsible for candidates' organization, examination room layout and invigilation. The graduation exam is a limited open-book written test, that is, students are only allowed to take the exam with their own reading notes, and no printed copies, photocopies, printed materials and other people's notes can be brought.
The assessment results are divided into five grades: excellent, good, medium, passing and failing. Those who pass the graduation examination can get 2 credits for general education by reading famous works.
