Feng Yong University is a private public welfare university. By the eve of the September 18th Incident in 193 1, the school had more than 700 students, making it one of the few institutions of higher learning in Northeast China. After the September 18th Incident, the school was converted into an airport by the Japanese army. Later, Feng Yong University was merged into Northeastern University in September 1933.

Northeastern University (Northeast? University), located in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of China. It is jointly built by the Ministry of Education, Liaoning Province and Shenyang City. It is a national "double-class" construction university, the first batch of national "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project" key construction universities, and the first batch of 600 universities determined by the Ministry of Education. It is a member institution of 2 1 century academic alliance and Sino-Russian comprehensive university alliance, the governing unit of China Artificial Intelligence Education Association, and the first batch of doctoral and master's degree awarding units in China.
