It is not illegal for college students to join the Party at home, but they need to meet the conditions and requirements of joining the Party in the Communist Party of China (CPC). Generally speaking, a party member should be at least 18 years old, with good ideological and political quality, firm belief in * * * production, conscientious and responsible, diligent in learning, active in work, and willing to accept the test of the organization.

The application for joining the Party needs to go through a strict organizational procedure, which consists of recommendation, application, review and inspection by party member.
