1, introduction of institutions

The Golden Mantis School of Architecture of Soochow University is one of the public schools in Suzhou University. It is located by the scenic Dushu Lake, adhering to the "meaning of classical gardens in the south of the Yangtze River and Suzhou Xiangshan craftsman spirit" and shouldering the historical mission of continuing to create modern architectural education in China.

The predecessor of the College is Suzhou University School of City Science, which was established in May 2005. At the end of 2007, in order to deepen the reform of the higher education system, Suzhou University and Suzhou Golden Mantis Architectural Decoration Co., Ltd. jointly established the Golden Mantis School of Architecture of Suzhou University (the public nature remains unchanged), which has become a model of school-enterprise cooperation in training design talents in modern higher education in China.

2. Theme setting

The college has four undergraduate majors: architecture, urban and rural planning, landscape architecture and historical building protection engineering. Two disciplines (architecture and urban environmental design and its theory) 1 doctoral program, 2 first-class discipline master programs (architecture, landscape architecture), 1 professional master programs (landscape architecture).

Architecture and urban and rural planning have passed the national education evaluation, and architecture has won the national first-class undergraduate specialty construction.

3. University orientation

The development orientation and goal of the college: based on engineering, architecture-oriented, featuring design, and creating products with ingenuity, it will develop into an international and professional first-class design college through differentiated development paths and "Industry-University-Research" integration mode.

The college has 707 full-time undergraduates and 265 graduate students. Faculty 104, among 80 full-time teachers, 65 are doctors, accounting for 81.25%; There are 49 teachers who have worked and studied abroad, accounting for 61.25%; There are 47 teachers with senior titles, accounting for 58.75%.
