Xi jiaotong university's founding date
Xi Jiaotong University, formerly known as Nanyang Public College, was founded in Shanghai in 1896. It was renamed Jiaotong University in 192 1 and is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China. After the founding of New China, according to the needs of the national economic development strategy, the State Council decided to move its capital to Xi 'an. 1956 jiaotong university moved to Xi' an, and 1959 officially named Xi' an jiaotong university.
