Guangzhou University is not a double-class university. Guangzhou University is a comprehensive university named after Guangzhou, an important national central city. It merged in 2000 and has a tradition of running schools for more than 90 years.

At present, the University Town, Guihuagang and Huangpu Research Institute/Graduate School are "one school and three parks", with 30,043 full-time undergraduates and 695 master students and doctoral students1person. The school has complete disciplines and strong comprehensiveness, and has 25 professional colleges, covering ten disciplines such as philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management and art.
