Wuhan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Huazhong Normal University, Wuhan University of Technology and Huazhong Agricultural University released this year's special plan for rural students. Five schools are expected to recruit 705 rural students nationwide this year. Among them, Wuhan University 160, Huazhong University of Science and Technology 150, Huazhong Normal University, 90, Wuhan University of Technology 185, and Huazhong Agricultural University 120.

According to the regulations, the special program for rural students in colleges and universities is mainly aimed at high schools below the county level (including county-level cities) in remote, poverty-stricken and ethnic areas to recruit diligent and excellent rural students. Among them, the local household registration for more than three consecutive years, the enrollment in the local high school for three consecutive years and the actual study are two hard levers, and each school has different requirements for "excellent grades". For example, Huake requires grades to reach the top 3% of the grade, while the other four universities do not specify specific requirements for grades in their brochures.
