As a modern college student, have you made an in-depth investigation and analysis of people, things and things around you? Have you found the intrinsic value hidden in it? In fact, if we investigate every little thing around us, we will find many valuable things, which are of great help to our study, work and life.
Theoretical study and social practice should be two important parts of our college life. Everyone is very eager to go to the society, carry out social practice activities, and combine what they have learned with real social problems. In the next semester, Professor Pei Yun's social investigation course gave us such an opportunity to exercise.
The whole learning process is divided into four stages. First of all, each student writes his own investigation plan, then each student designs his own questionnaire and outline, then conducts investigations separately, and finally writes his own investigation report.
The first stage: design the investigation scheme.
"Everything is difficult at the beginning", after all, it is the first time for everyone to write a survey plan, and it is inevitable that there will be some mistakes, such as incorrect format, insufficient items, inconsistent content, lack of quality and so on. But these mistakes were gradually corrected under the careful guidance of Teacher Pei. He guides students again and again, and students change and make progress again and again. From being passive at the beginning (as long as we finish the task) to being active later (trying our best to do what we should do), everyone's mentality has changed a lot. Everyone thinks that the first social survey must be completed seriously. 47 students in the class designed different investigation schemes, which have practical significance and characteristics. For example, Zhao's survey of children's enrollment in a village, the survey of modern college students' thumbs, Li's survey of students' learning of liberal arts in Wuxiang No.1 Middle School, and Zhang Shijuan's case study of "online dating" ... Under the leadership of Mr. Pei, the whole class showed a fiery atmosphere of positive progress and high passion.
The second stage: designing the questionnaire and outline.
There are many investigation methods, such as questionnaire, interview, observation and literature. There are also several methods used at the same time. Students who use questionnaires design questionnaires, and students who use interview and observation design outlines. These questionnaires and outlines were revised by Mr. Pei himself, and everyone's questionnaires or outlines were revised at least three times. 2 1 students used the questionnaire survey method, and they saved the final questionnaire on floppy disk. With the support of department leaders, the Academic Affairs Office printed nearly 800 questionnaires for us. At this stage, the questionnaire designed by Rylin and Zhang Junhua and the interview outline designed by Zhai Qi and Huang Jiahui are excellent models with standardized format, comprehensive content and novel and reasonable design.
The third stage: investigation.
After designing the questionnaire and outline, start the investigation. Students go out one after another, use their spare time to find partners, interview and ask each other, and strive to get respondents to fill in questionnaires and answer questions with their real ideas, so that we can get reliable information. Everyone tried their best to conduct on-the-spot investigation through various ways and channels. For example, I went to Huamei Supermarket to investigate commodity packaging, and Sun Zhifang insisted on going to the reading room to observe everyone's reading every day. I went to Xinyi No.1 Middle School to interview the study and life of high school tutors. Li went to Wuxiang Middle School for investigation in the summer vacation, went to his hometown to visit farmers, and Zhao visited the parents of dropouts. "Practice makes true knowledge", we obtained many reliable first-hand materials in the actual investigation process, exercised and improved our ability to participate in social practice, and enriched and increased our study and life experience.
The fourth stage: summarize and write the investigation report.
This is the last step, but it is also the most difficult step. After careful observation and analysis, investigation and study, collecting materials and sorting out data, the students finally draw conclusions, make suggestions and write reports. It can be said that at this stage, we have made more efforts and spent the most time. Most students have written more than ten pages of reports. Teacher Pei criticized and revised every report word for word, and then the students supplemented, revised and wrote again and again, perfecting their works and labor achievements again and again. Many students put a lot of time and energy into this report. For example, Grace Wai Wong and Guo Yue "improved" the 3,000-word report four times and tried their best to improve their works. Zhao's Survey on Children's Enrollment in a Village has also been revised several times, and under the careful guidance of Teacher Pei, it has gradually become a successful report. Through careful observation and patient interviews with several students, Huang Jiahui wrote a report of more than 5,000 words. Even in the process of printing these reports, everyone has spent a lot of effort. Not only do you need to master the skills of typing, typesetting and tabulation, but you are most worried about the invasion of viruses, so most students pay more attention to it. According to Sun Zhifang's report, four times, some or all files were lost because of virus infringement; Huang Jiahui's report was destroyed by the virus, and all 5,000 words were reprinted ... Even so, everyone remained enthusiastic, revised it repeatedly, and constantly pursued standardization and beauty.
This course took more than seven months from the beginning to the end, and finally it was a complete success with the joint efforts of teachers and students. Everyone has written 47 reports with their own values and characteristics. In the whole process of study and investigation, teachers and students have made a lot of efforts and occupied a lot of time, but they have also gained a lot. ...
First of all, we realize that Mr. Pei is serious, diligent, tireless, meticulous, amiable, enthusiastic and responsible. We also realized the active cooperation and efforts of our classmates. Zhang Junhua, a study committee member, has done a lot of organizational work, collected and distributed countless times, urged and helped countless times, and every report shed her sweat. Li Junxia and other students worked overtime for the exhibition, forgetting to eat and sleep. In particular, I want to talk about Yang Chanjuan. She only took two courses and then transferred to the law department. However, from the initial design scheme and questionnaire to the later investigation and report writing, the whole process is revised and improved step by step with the progress of the students until the end of the course. This learning spirit is really admirable.
In the process of study and investigation, we feel that we are not only completing a task, but also enthusiastically pursuing perfection and persistently exploring knowledge. After the investigation, everyone benefited a lot, and gained a lot of things that we couldn't learn in class, as well as valuable and helpful things for our future study, life and work. What we really appreciate is the significance of integrating theory with practice and the fun of applying what we have learned. Students will use this spirit in their future study, be strict with themselves and do their best to do what they should and want to do!
Experience of social investigation of college students
My first impression of Guizhou comes from a Miao classmate in Guizhou, who is a roommate in the university. He is very good at using some anecdotes that are difficult to distinguish between true and false to render the mystery of Miao nationality in Miao township. His simple and generous personality and humorous talk are also loved by everyone. This classmate likes to describe Guizhou in two sentences, one is "good mountains and poor water" and the other is "there is no sunny day for three days, the land is not three feet flat, and people have no silver". At that time, everyone thought that this classmate was too modest and preconceived that Guizhou must be a good place. You can see the clue from the name, "Guizhou, Guizhou, a rich state".
In May 2008, I personally came to Guizhou for the first time, went to Huangguoshu Waterfall and Kaili in Qiandongnan Prefecture, had an exciting drifting on the Cunninghamia lanceolata River winding among the mountains, and ate a delicious sour soup fish in Lianghuan Village full of ethnic customs, fully appreciated the colorful scenery and landscape of Guizhou, and had a good impression on Guizhou. After going up a storey still higher,
On June 20 12, I came to Guizhou again with the youth investigation and practice mission of the central state organs, and went into Jiaoma Township, Changshun County, the hinterland of Mashan, where I lived and worked with cadres and masses in remote rural areas, and felt the flesh-and-blood ties of local rural cadres and masses. Walk into Weiyuan Industrial Park in Changshun County, which is under construction in full swing, and witness the industrialization, urbanization and industrialization process of a traditional agricultural county. Enter Zunyi, a famous historical and cultural city, take the Long March Road again, touch that thrilling history again and experience the hardships of the Long March. In just seven days,
I felt the conflict and alternation between traditional agriculture and modern industry, the contrast and blending between history and reality, and saw a totally different Guizhou from my impression, leaving an indelible and precious experience, among which several fragments especially touched me deeply.
First, poverty that stings people's hearts
The Jiaoma Township in Changshun County, which we studied, is one of the most typical poor "Mashan" townships in Guizhou Province, with very bad natural conditions. On the one hand, the soil is extremely barren, the rocky desertification is very serious, the cultivated land is scattered and broken, and the development of planting industry is limited. Villagers can only make a living by planting corn; On the other hand, high mountains and deep roads, rugged roads and extremely difficult transportation have also become important bottlenecks restricting economic development. In particular, this township is a typical karst landform. Surface water is very scarce, and groundwater is deeply buried below 1.50 meters. It is difficult to develop and utilize it, and it is a heart disease that has long plagued the people. During the days when I ate, lived and worked with my fellow villagers, I saw that they were short of money, food and water. I saw that they walked a rugged and even dangerous narrow path every day, lived in wooden houses and thatched houses that could not cover the wind and rain, and drank cellar water that could not meet the drinking water standards for a long time. The sharp contrast and cruel reality, beyond our expectation of poverty and backwardness, deeply hurt me. The most worrying scene happened in Jiaoma Township Central Primary School. When a teacher opened the cellar for storing domestic water in the school, unknown sundries such as rotten leaves and broken plastic bags floating on the water immediately came into our eyes. "God, children drink this water every day!" A group member couldn't help blurting out. The accompanying principal reluctantly explained to everyone that there is no fixed water source near the school, and only rainwater can be collected for several months in the rainy season to accumulate domestic water for the whole year. Long-term storage will inevitably pollute the water, and sometimes even soak dead mice in the cellar, but even so, everyone has no choice but to bite the bullet and drink.
Second, the little girl's smile
On the second day of our arrival in Jiaoma Township, we brought our own dry food, climbed mountains and went deep into villages such as Wengluo, Guaba, Gandai and Ji Fang to express our condolences to poor farmers and understand the feelings of local people. Along the way, rocky, rugged and endless mountain roads tortured our bodies; The ubiquitous and sudden poverty continues to purify our hearts. We trekked for more than 6 hours and traveled more than 20 kilometers of mountain roads, and finally arrived at today's destination-the Gandai Formation in Wengluo Village. At this time, everyone was exhausted. When we were resting at the entrance to the village, we met our little brother and sister in the picture above. The first thing that caught our attention was the clean and decent dress of the little girl, especially the beautiful hair band and pink flowers on her head, which was different from other children we met along the way. A colleague couldn't help joking that this must be the daughter of a rich family in the village. But after some conversation, we found that the fact is just the opposite of what we thought. The little girl is 6 years old and her brother 1.5 years old. Their father works outside the home all the year round, and their mother is a volunteer teacher of Hope Primary School in Wengluo Village. My mother is very busy at ordinary times and can't take care of her younger brothers and sisters. After school, my little sister has to take care of her brother and do most of the housework at home. The story of the little girl made us feel sympathy and awe. Everyone began to comfort her, encourage her and enlighten her, but the little girl didn't say anything, just looked up and smiled at us, and then silently distributed the candy given by her colleagues to other children around her, except the last one, which was carefully peeled off and put into her mouth. At that moment, I felt that all the words were superfluous. These left-behind and semi-left-behind children, with courage and persistence beyond our imagination, have taken on the ups and downs that they should not have taken on.
Third, the tears of fellow villagers
Passing through several groups in Wengluo Village, I met a middle-aged man on the road. I wanted to ask him to lead the way to visit a poor family, but the man anxiously said that his brother was ill and wanted to go down the mountain for a doctor, so he hurried past us. Two days later, on the way back to the government, I saw a family having a funeral. A woman in white was lying on a dark coffin, crying bitterly. In the past, township cadres and fellow villagers inquired about the situation, and the news brought back surprised us very much. The deceased is the patient in the population who was on the road two days ago. Because of the long distance and inconvenient transportation, it is impossible to send him to the mountainous area for medical treatment in time, and township hospitals are helpless for complex diseases. The father of four children left in a hurry in less than two days and died without even being diagnosed with any disease. Hearing this, everyone cried. Led by the secretary of the liao immediately sent some solatium to the eldest sister-in-law. The words of the township head made our mood even heavier. He told us that poverty due to illness and returning to poverty due to illness are too common in poor mountainous areas. It can be said that it happens every day and it can happen in every family. Now with the new rural cooperative medical system and the new rural insurance, great changes have really taken place. These poor rural families are still very vulnerable. When I interviewed a fellow villager two days ago, I heard him talk about his nephew's unfortunate death when he was building a road and blasting stones, leaving the whole family helpless and in trouble. My mood suddenly sank: ordinary families in China, especially poor families in poor areas, are too weak to resist risks. Any unforeseen disease, accident or natural disaster may destroy all the hopes of a family and plunge the whole family into a permanent quagmire. How to deal with these risks? How to build an anti-risk safety net for these poor families who need protection most? This is an urgent problem for China's insurance companies.
