The Rocket Army Engineering University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, located in Xi 'an, China, is the only military college in China that trains command and technical personnel of strategic missile forces, a key college of the China People's Liberation Army, a key construction college of the "2 1 10 Project" of the army, and one of the first units authorized by the the State Council Academic Degrees Committee to award doctors, masters and bachelor's degrees, and is known as the cradle of officers of China's strategic missile forces.
Rocket Army Engineering University was originally a military academy to train junior commanding officers of ground artillery. Formerly known as the Northwest Military Region Artillery School, it was renamed as the First Artillery School, Xi 'an Artillery School, Artillery Technical College, Second Artillery Technical College, Second Artillery Engineering College and Second Artillery Engineering University. On 20 16 and 16, it was renamed as the PLA Rocket Army Engineering University.
The school is composed of three colleges, seven professional departments, two graduate management brigades and several student brigades, and has formed a multi-level talent training system featuring missile high-tech application engineering, technology-based, technical command combined with graduate education as the leader, undergraduate education as the main body and on-the-job education as the supplement.
Since the implementation of postgraduate education, the school has successively completed more than ten thousand scientific research projects 1, including two national scientific and technological progress awards, more than 500 military scientific and technological progress awards and many national defense patents 1. At the same time, it has undertaken 38 national "863" and "973" key projects and the pre-research projects of the General Armament Department and the First Rocket Force 160, becoming an important force in the scientific research system of the Rocket Force.
The school has also participated in more than 20 academic organizations, such as the China Aerospace Society, and served as a director for more than 50 times.
By the end of 20 16, the school has four disciplines: engineering, science, military science and management. There are 2 national key disciplines in two disciplines, 5 post-doctoral research stations, 4 first-class disciplines for doctoral degree authorization, 20 first-class disciplines for doctoral degree authorization, 8 first-class disciplines for master's degree authorization, 29 two disciplines master's degree authorization, 9 master's degree authorization fields and 8 military "2655".
