Dan Jixiang, president of the Palace Museum, once lamented in his public speech that the poor mechanism led to the loss of craftsmen in the Palace Museum. He revealed that many old craftsmen in the Forbidden City have to retire at the age because they have no cadre status and cannot be rehired. The inheritors of the eight masterpieces in the courtyard have all left one by one. Most of the young people they train come from the surrounding areas, and they can't get in without a Beijing hukou; Young people in Beijing are unwilling to learn from bricklayers and carpenters. Therefore, the master of inheritance system trained every three years in the Forbidden City could not go to Beijing and returned to his hometown.
The restoration department of the Forbidden City also admitted that it would take at least 100 years to restore the existing cultural relics of the Forbidden City with the current restorers. In order to break through the bottleneck of artisans, in 20 15, the Forbidden City and Beijing International Vocational Education School joined hands to set up the major of cultural relics restoration and protection for the first time. The first batch enrolled 20 students. So far, this major has enrolled 35 students. Qian Weidong, then president of Beijing International Vocational Education School, said that students admitted to this major will learn the core courses of cultural relics protection, including basic knowledge of cultural relics, a brief history of China art, basic methods of cultural relics protection, ancient building protection, principles and typical cases of cultural relics protection and restoration, history and appreciation of China ceramics, application of scientific and technological methods in cultural relics protection, traditional techniques of cultural relics restoration, Gu Shuhua restoration and mounting techniques, typical cases and so on. Among these subjects, experts in the restoration of the Forbidden City are the main force in teaching.
According to public information, the major enrolls students through unified recruitment, and graduates will obtain different types of vocational qualification certificates such as cultural relics restoration, rubbing or painting and calligraphy mounting issued by the human resources and social security departments, and can engage in cultural industries such as cultural relics market, museum industry, art investment industry and auction industry. However, limited by the relevant system, the graduates of this major can't meet the academic requirements when recruiting in the Forbidden City.
In order to change this situation, this year, Beijing Union University, Beijing International Vocational Education School and the Palace Museum jointly launched a pilot project to train high-end technical and technical personnel specializing in cultural relics protection and restoration. In 20 17, the enrollment scale was 30 students, and the enrollment targets were candidates with official household registration in this city who met the entrance qualification of the senior high school entrance examination that year. The academic system and student status management of these students are all in accordance with the "3+2+2" training model. They studied in Beijing International Vocational Education School for the first three years and are secondary vocational students. Then it will be trained by the conference for two years, and it is a higher vocational student status; Then through the transition from junior college to undergraduate course, I finally got the undergraduate course. It is reported that the major adopts the method of enrolling students in advance, and the minimum admission control line is 430 points.
