Regarding the choice of schools and majors:
My choice of school and major is based on the following points for reference only.
School choice:
1. Geographical advantages. Colleges and universities have high regional recognition and have certain advantages for friends who want to stay in Guangdong after graduation. I come from Guangdong. PS: I don't eat Fujian people ~
2. School level. Double-class, 2 1 1 Colleges and universities have certain advantages in the job market and pay more and more attention to school performance. I am a two-year undergraduate, and the postgraduate entrance examination is definitely going up.
3. There is no academic discrimination. Jinan University is a fairly fair institution. At present, I haven't heard of the situation that the score is too high, discriminating against non-92 students or protecting our school. Admission is based on the initial test results and re-test results.
Professional choice:
1. Personal interests. In fact, not only English language and literature, but also liberal arts majors have a little power generation for love. After all, the specialty of Tiger balm is not as high as that of unpopular and niche majors. Whether you decide to pursue further studies or not, you need to ask yourself whether you can pay the cost of time and other aspects.
2. Employment situation. If you are an English-related major, English language and literature is still relatively easy to find employment. Most graduates will choose to be English teachers in schools or institutions, and be friendly to friends who want to be teachers. In addition to being a teacher and entering a foreign company, there are people engaged in different industries, which requires combining English ability with knowledge and skills in other fields; If you want to take the academic road, Jinan University is also a good platform.
3. Professional features. Probably because it is Huaqiao University, the research direction of many tutors in this major is related to China literature and cross-cultural studies, which is quite interesting.
About the initial test:
Politics:
It is common to get a score of about 70, but you have to rely on luck to get a score of 80. It is not recommended to review and prepare politics too early. Just start preparing for the summer vacation, that is, in July. So from July to August, I spend about 1.5 hours on politics every day. I just watch videos every day, 1-2 Xu Tao videos, and then cooperate with Xiao Xiurong's experience. Mr. Xu Tao's courses are very lively and interesting, which can also help you master knowledge better. Coupled with Xiao Xiurong's classic experience, I think he is a better partner.
Then, after watching the video, I have also finished reading the textbook. After that, I did the problem and brushed Xiao Xiurong 1000. After reading a chapter, write down the exercises in that chapter. This is what we will do from July to August.
From September to165438+10, we need to spend about two hours on politics every day. At this stage, you should allocate time and do these three things well in these three months. The first point is to brush the wrong question of 1000, and the second point is to brush the wrong question of the real question and do the real question. The third point is reciting. Make eight sets of rolls.
Next is 65438+ February. 65438+ February, I suggest you spend about three hours every day, because you have to recite a lot. You have got four sets of papers and his answers from Xiao Xiurong in early February. At this time, you should recite four sets of papers crazily and recite all its answers. So until the exam, suppose it is the exam on February 20, 65438, and you will have about half a month to 20 days to recite it. The recitation time will be shorter this time, so the task will be heavier, but you must recite it. If you don't recite it, politics will be difficult to write, so I suggest you recite it at least three times so that you will be familiar with it. In addition to the task of reciting, there are also wrong questions and wrong knowledge points, which must be consolidated. Many people say that multiple-choice questions are the best in the world. As long as you recite the big questions there, the problem is basically not big, and you can open the score with others. The most likely way to score with others is your choice of questions.
Japanese as a second language:
My second foreign language is basic Japanese, and some of my classmates are French, but personally, whether your second foreign language is Japanese or French, the preparation process is similar.
Reference Book: New Standard Japanese Elementary+Intermediate
Main books: New Standard Japanese Elementary and Intermediate, Blue Book n5-n2 Grammar.
Test items: vocabulary, grammar, reading, translation (Chinese translation, Japanese translation), composition.
In fact, a second foreign language is to watch classes, recite words and do grammar problems. I saw two or three online classes every day after school started in September. I saw n2 from n5. n2 only watched vocabulary and grammar lessons, but still felt nauseous. The next step is to brush the blue book. N5-n2 brushes two or three classes every day to do after-school exercises, and the grammar is basically fine.
I suggest you start memorizing words as soon as possible, because word grammar is the foundation, and it is more convenient to remember to read. Words n5-n4 must be recited several times, and word n3 must be recited completely. If you have time, you'd better read the words n2.
Third, it is from September to 10. We must do the real questions because we have finished learning the textbooks. Next, we should do the real questions, look at the rules of Jinan University, and then study. You can finish the real questions in the first 5-6 years. If you translate, you can just look at the answers and learn how others translate. If you don't understand, you must turn over the books and find the corresponding knowledge points. This is a process of consolidation, and it is also a process of checking and filling gaps. Everyone must pay attention. Translation should be practiced every 1-2 days, because translation accounts for a large part of the club, with a score of 40. Therefore, translation is a very big project, and we must pay attention to it. Although other questions account for more points, we can see that the total translation, Japanese translation and Chinese translation account for 40 points, which is the highest score in the whole test paper. Everyone must pay attention to it.
706 foreign language (English) proficiency test
The total score of the basic English test is 150, and the test time is three hours. The content structure of the test paper is grammar, vocabulary, cloze, reading comprehension, translation and writing. Translation is the highest. The first thing I want to say is a preparation of vocabulary and grammar. Personally, I recited TEM-8 twice, and then I recited GRE twice. Because of the large number of words, it will be very smooth when reading literary works and doing basic English reading.
Only by accumulating enough words can we pave the way for future basic English and literature courses. In grammar, I used the 1000 question of TEM4. I finished this book. If you lack grammar, you can also read that book. Or you can find yourself a grammar book of a good university. Reading is the same as cloze. The reference materials I give you here are reading for TEM-8 and real questions. I think these two items are enough. Translation, just brush the real questions of two strokes and three strokes, as well as the real questions of our Jinan University. Occasionally read some articles that the Economist has read intensively. They are all good materials, and you can also refer to them. The fifth part is the most troublesome and important part. After all, it costs 30 points. First, I'll give you two suggestions. The first is to sign up for a writing course. Second, you buy a book "Boutique Scope 100 Articles", which contains 100 articles in eight subjects. The composition of Jinan University will compare your logic with your personal point of view. An article must have its own point of view, which is very important for our teacher. Of course, your template should be very wonderful, so you should have your own template. Then the second point is that you must use examples to demonstrate, which means you must have your examples. If you write, I suggest you start in September, that is, you are a senior. At the beginning of last semester, you should start writing an article every week. Then the students revise each other, because they can find their own problems and learn some good ideas from their classmates.
Synthesis of foreign languages and literature:

Examination questions: selection, judgment, noun explanation, short answer and discussion.
There are many reference books to read in this professional course, including eight in literature and two in linguistics. It is recommended to start reading as soon as possible. However, because the direction of literature is only linguistics 15, it is still the choice of judging questions, just reading notes. After reading the reference books, you can start reading notes and memorizing them. After all, there are so many textbooks that you can't memorize them all, so memorizing notes is more efficient. I used Huayan's notes, which contained the collation of test sites and the explanation of nouns, as well as the real questions of famous schools. After reading a chapter, you can do exercises to consolidate your memory.
Recite at least two rounds of noun explanations and set a certain amount of tasks every day. You can review before going to bed every day, and review it again before you start studying the next morning to deepen your memory. Of course, it is not a word-for-word recitation, but it is expressed in my own words on the basis of knowing the meaning of this term, mainly according to the routine of "definition+(time and place)+(sub-classification)+characteristics+influence+representative figures+representative works".
If you simply answer the essay questions, you need to practice more. In fact, there are routines to follow. Short answer: Ask about the style of writing, ask about the theme, and ask about the writer's characteristics and influence. On this basis, spread out some key knowledge points of the writer appropriately, and pay attention to priority and logic. If you really can't write a composition, write everything you know in combination with the topic. For example, after summarizing the plot of the novel, we can talk about the background of the times, some writing characteristics, themes, skills and so on related to the work. The composition topic of Jinan University has always liked poetry analysis. Besides 20 years and 2 1 year, there is also a topic in 22 years. There are also routines in poetry analysis, mainly including rhyme scheme, meter, theme, rhetoric and so on. You can find out the routine by looking at the answers to the real questions.
About the second interview:
Re-examination, the admission ratio in previous years was 1: 1.5, that is, if 7 people were recruited, 9 people would enter the re-examination. This year, it rose to 1: 2, and seven people were recruited, but 14 people entered the second interview, which was a little stressful. In the past three years, the retest score line is also around 380.
The content of the re-examination of specialized courses is relatively routine, mainly including self-introduction, noun explanation, judgment questions, short answer questions, and a personal question, such as talking about your paper or who you like. Except for self-introduction and personal questions, it is actually similar to the topic of the first test, only in the form of oral expression. The content of the exam is not very difficult, just some basic test sites, but pay attention to control the rhythm and don't answer two or three sentences. Just because I didn't answer enough, the teacher asked more questions. Finally, I missed it. And in fact, there are not many friends who attack back, most of them are friends before the initial test, so I suggest you prepare a good grade for the initial test, otherwise the pressure of the second test will be great.
The Japanese second interview is actually more thrilling, because the teacher speaks Japanese very fast, so I didn't hear it clearly, so I crustily skin of head and answered. The process is to introduce yourself, read a short passage, answer questions and translate a sentence or a new word. When you are preparing, you should read more texts and master your feelings, so as to avoid stumbling and review the words. For example, I didn't review the words at that time, but I forgot how to read them, so I crustily skin of head and read them. It's still embarrassing to think about it now.
Write it at the end: (1) If I am lazy and have no self-control, I will try to stay at school to review during the summer vacation, or I will come back for a period of time to start reviewing. (2) Prepare a plan book, make a plan every day and try your best to complete it. Although I can't guarantee to finish the plan on time every day, I still feel guilty when I look at the unfinished plan one day, which will motivate me to finish it the next day. Of course, the sense of accomplishment after finishing the plan on time is more effective. (3) the real questions don't have to be left to the end. I think we should read the real questions first and then review them, and have a certain understanding of the questions and test sites before making a planned review. (4) When reviewing, don't just go forward. Sometimes you should stop and think about what you are doing and how far you are from your goal, and then make a new plan. (5) Don't take chances. I always got a pair of linguistic concepts before the exam and then forgot them, so I thought I wouldn't take the exam this time and I took it last year, but I just got this during the exam. Therefore, when reviewing, try to make the knowledge points thorough and don't be lazy. (6) Adjust your mentality and believe in yourself, just like Teacher Zhan said, be confident and modest. I am not a confident person, and I am particularly anxious when reviewing, especially during the second interview. So for me, the postgraduate entrance examination is not to surpass others, but to beat myself.
Finally, I want to say: whether I am a friend of World War I or World War II, I want to say to you: Be brave, don't be afraid, we are still young, don't leave regrets for the future! Be a soldier, not an alarmist!
