1March, 980, the school was established, initially named Zhengzhou University and Henan Medical College Branch. On September 25th, 1980, the school held its first opening ceremony. 198 1 changed its name to Zhengzhou rida. 1985 was changed to zhongzhou university in April, and the foundation stone was laid for Hanghai Road Campus in the same year.

From 65438 to 0990, the school established the "Zhongzhou University Board of Directors", and the participants were relevant leaders of provinces, cities and counties, social celebrities, factory directors and managers of factories and enterprises (including township enterprises). On March 26th, 2002, the foundation stone was laid for the North Campus. 20111February, Jinhe Campus laid the foundation stone in North University Town, Huiji District, Zhengzhou City.
