Jinzhong University Teachers College was established in February 2004 with the approval of Shanxi Provincial Department of Education. It was formed by the merger of Taigu Normal College of Jinzhong University and Taihang Normal College of Jinzhong University. It is a new normal college for basic education.
The college is located in Jinzhong City, the hinterland of Shanxi Province and the hometown of Shanxi merchants. Located at the intersection of Taijiu, Universiade and Taichang Expressway and Shitai, Tongpu and Taijiao railways, it is close to Taiyuan, the provincial capital. The profound historical and cultural accumulation and the spirit of honesty, dedication, wisdom and innovation endow the college with rich academic nutrients, strong demand for talents, developed basic education, unique location advantages and convenient transportation conditions, which provide a very superior human and geographical environment for the construction and development of the college.
The predecessor of Jinzhong University Teachers College is Taigu Teachers College, which was founded in 1949 and Taihang Teachers College in 1985. Since its establishment 58 years ago, * * * has trained and transported 36,000 qualified primary school teachers and other talents, making important contributions to regional economic construction and social development. The college now covers an area of 300 mu, and the planned land is 100 mu, with a total construction area of1280,000 square meters. The whole college is a basic layout mode of "teaching experiment area-public resources area-student living area-sports area-art education area". It has facilities such as library, teaching and experimental building, music and art building, art teaching building, gymnasium, training center, multimedia electronic classroom, computer studio, electronic lesson preparation room, electronic reading room and language lab. Teaching instruments and equipment 10.99 million yuan, library collection180,000 volumes, 265 periodicals and magazines, and 80,000 electronic books. The college has advanced campus network, fully functional multimedia teaching system and 620 networked computers, which provides a good platform for distance teaching, online office and online service.
Teachers College of Jinzhong University has approved the establishment of 23 majors, including Chinese education, mathematics education, English education, modern educational technology, physical education, music education, art education, history education, ideological and political education, primary education, preschool education and so on 1 major. Starting from junior high school, the five-year normal college has six majors: Chinese and social direction, mathematics and science direction, modern information technology direction, English direction, music direction and art direction, and it is the second major of preschool normal education; Junior high school enrolls students from five majors: computer and application, art design, secretarial, broadcasting and program hosting, and tourism service and management. At present, there are more than 5000 students.
There are 380 faculty members, 257 full-time teachers, including 76 associate professors, 89 lecturers, 66 graduate students, 2 national and provincial excellent teachers 1 person, provincial academic leaders1person, and 26 part-time professors in universities such as Beijing Normal University.
In recent years, the College has successively undertaken many key research projects such as "Establishing Three Centers to Serve the Reform and Development of Rural Primary Schools", "Education and Teaching Cases" and "Research on the Problem of Rural Substitute Teachers", and published more than 20 books and teaching materials in publishing houses above the provincial level, and more than 500 academic papers in journals above the provincial level.
The college has continuously expanded the road of opening to the outside world and has successively cooperated with other institutions of higher learning such as Beijing Normal University. As the educational experimental base of Beijing Normal University, it has organized various forms of education, such as postgraduate courses, correspondence education and modern distance network education. More than 20 famous professors and scholars from Beijing Normal University, such as Lao Kaisheng, Li Yifei and Cong Lixin, came to give lectures in our school, which greatly improved the quality of running a school.
The college unswervingly adheres to the socialist direction of running schools, actively explores new ways and methods of school education, teaching and ideological and political work in the new era, carries out in-depth education, teaching and management, carries out various campus cultural activities, and strives to create a good educational environment and build a harmonious campus. It was rated as "Advanced Collective of Teacher Education Reform" by China Ceramic Association, and awarded "Shanxi Civilized School", "Shanxi Moral Education Demonstration School" and "Advanced School of Education Reform in the whole province" by the provincial government.
