Teaching characteristics
On the curriculum, the undergraduate teaching of this major is divided into the basic stage of the first and second grades and the improvement stage of the third and fourth grades. In the basic stage, listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation are the main courses, focusing on imparting basic Japanese knowledge, cultivating students' comprehensive and rigorous basic skills and expanding their knowledge level and structure. At the same time, pay attention to the cultivation of good study habits. It mainly offers courses such as introduction to Japanese subject, comprehensive Japanese, Japanese reading, Japanese listening, spoken Japanese, Japanese audio-visual speaking, modern Japanese grammar and college English.
The third and fourth grades focus on improving students' critical thinking ability and cultivating subject interest. The main courses offered are: advanced Japanese, Japanese-Chinese translation, Chinese-Japanese translation, introduction to modern Japanese, introduction to Japanese literature, business Japanese, tourism Japanese, classical Japanese, Japanese culture, Japanese economic topics, postwar Japanese politics and diplomacy, etc. Students can also take literature courses of other majors to reflect the characteristics of cultivating senior Japanese professionals who not only pay attention to the cultivation of Japanese ability, but also expand their knowledge.
In teaching and training, we should follow the law of language teaching, pay attention to the construction of professional knowledge, adapt to the actual needs of society, and pay attention to the cultivation of compound talents such as Japanese-Chinese, Chinese-Japanese translation, English-Japanese translation, Sino-Japanese English comparison and Sino-Japanese cultural comparison.
In teaching methods, small class multimedia teaching is implemented, emphasizing the cultivation of language communicative competence and the practicality of language learning. Classroom teaching takes students as the main body and pays attention to designing and organizing classroom teaching activities.
At the same time, it also pays attention to the teaching activities in the second classroom. Organize students to form an interactive group with Japanese students from Minzu University of China to learn language and culture; Encourage students to actively participate in and carry out the cultural exchange activities of the "Sakura Society", which is mainly responsible for the Japanese Department, improve students' interest in learning, and pay attention to cultivating students' cross-cultural communication ability and ability to organize activities.

The Japanese department has a strong faculty. Rich teaching experience, profound professional knowledge and extensive research topics. At present, there are 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 2 lecturers and 2 foreign teachers. In-service teachers all have experience of studying in Japan or abroad. Japanese teachers have actively carried out teaching and academic research and achieved considerable results. In recent years, the teachers of our department have presided over 7 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial level, such as the national social sciences and the Ministry of Education, and published more than 70 papers, monographs, teaching materials and translations.

Japanese Department attaches great importance to cooperation and exchanges with foreign universities and research institutions. Our school has signed school-level friendly agreements with Chiba University, New Area University, Ehime University, Nagoya City University, Central University, Meiji University, Hosei University, Shimane City University, Gifu Shengde Academy University, Osaka University of Economics and Law, Kansai University, etc., and more than 20 students can be selected to study in Japan every year. In other words, students majoring in Japanese can study in Japan as exchange students as long as they pass all the required examinations before studying in Japan.
