Beijing Friendship Hospital was founded in 1952, formerly known as Beijing Soviet Red Cross Hospital. It is the first large hospital established by the Party and the government with the assistance of the Soviet government and the Soviet Red Cross after the founding of New China. The new hospital site was completed in 1954. Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De and other revolutionaries of the older generation wrote inscriptions for the hospital.
President Mao Zedong wrote an inscription entitled "Reducing people's diseases and improving people's health". 1957 in March, the Soviet government officially handed over the hospital to our government, and Premier Zhou Enlai personally came to the hospital to attend the handover ceremony. 1970, Premier Zhou personally named the hospital "Beijing Friendship Hospital".
Beijing Friendship Hospital, Second Clinical Medical College of Capital Medical University, is a third-class and first-class general hospital in Beijing, which integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention and health care. The hospital has Xicheng Campus and Tongzhou Campus, of which Xicheng Campus is located in the core area of the capital and Tongzhou Campus is located in the sub-center of the city.
