China Ocean University, formerly a private Qingdao University, was founded in August 1924. 1930 in may, the private Qingdao university merged with the provincial Shandong university to form the national Qingdao university. On September 1932, the National Qingdao University was changed to the National Shandong University. War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression broke out 1937, and the National Shandong University moved from Qingdao to Anhui and Sichuan. 1946 Spring, National Shandong University resumed its studies in Qingdao. 1June, 958, the main body of Shandong University moved to Jinan, leaving some teachers and students in basic disciplines such as ocean, aquatic products, geology, biology, mathematics and physics. With the approval of the central government, Shandong Ocean University was established in March 1959, and was confirmed as the national 13 in June/960. 1988 was renamed Qingdao Ocean University with the approval of the State Education Commission (now the Ministry of Education). The name of the school was inscribed by the beloved Comrade Deng Xiaoping. 1996 65438+ 10, the first batch of schools passed the preliminary examination of the national "2 1 1 project" department, and in May 2006, the "21/project" was successfully completed as planned with high efficiency. From June 5438 to October 65438, 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed "China Ocean University". After nearly 80 years of development and construction, the school has gradually developed into a national key comprehensive university featuring marine and aquatic disciplines, including science, engineering, agriculture (aquatic products), medicine (medicine), literature and management, law and economics.
