East China Normal University is a national key university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It has a deep relationship with Putuo, one of the predecessors of Putuo, Daxia University. Not only was it founded in Putuo District, but its teachers and students also left a profound historical footprint in Putuo District. The cooperation between East China Normal University and Putuo District is deepening.

East China Normal University was founded on June 195 1 month 1 6, and transferred to some departments of Daxia University (1924) and Guanghua University (1925). East China Normal University (Putuo Campus) is located at 3663 Zhongshan North Road, Putuo District.

Recently, East China Normal University (Putuo Campus) located in Changfeng New Village Street was officially opened to the public. You don't need to make an appointment, you can visit the campus by swiping your ID card.

The library of East China Normal University consists of Minhang Campus Library and Zhongshan North Road Campus Library, and its collection resources include all kinds of printed documents and digital documents at all times and all over the world. The subject scope of literature collection covers humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and applied technology, especially the literature of key disciplines such as education, geography, literature, history and philosophy.

By September 2022, there were 4,952,900 books in the library, including 4,078,600 books, 4/kloc-0,280 periodicals, 334,800 ancient books, 57,900 dissertations and 5 1.00 non-book materials. There are 0/64 electronic literature databases (466 sub-databases), including more than 80,200 electronic periodicals and 220 electronic books.
