Rheology was first established in Hunan University and spread to the whole country from here. The founder of the discipline is Professor Yuan, a famous scholar and rheologist in China. Rheology was awarded the first batch of key disciplines in colleges and universities in Hunan Province 1982. Since 200 1, general mechanics and mechanical foundation have been the key disciplines in Hunan province in the tenth, eleventh and twelfth five-year plans, and became the national key disciplines in 2007.
