Donghua University, located in Shanghai, China, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is also a national "double-class" construction university, and the national "2 1 1 project" focuses on the construction of universities.
It has been selected into the National Innovative Experiment Program for College Students, the National Public Postgraduate Program for Building High-level Universities, the National College Students' Cultural Quality Education Base, the National College Practice Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base, the China Municipal Government Scholarship Receiving Institution for Students Studying in China, and the National Engineering Postgraduate Education Innovation Institution. It is one of the first universities in China with the right to award doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees, and it is a high-level high-quality resource sharing alliance of industry-specific universities.
The history of the school can be traced back to the Textile Printing and Dyeing Institute founded by industrialist Zhang Jian in 19 12. Founded in 195 1, it was named East China Institute of Textile Technology. 1960, identified as a national key university by the Ministry of Education. 198 1 year, becoming one of the first universities in China with the right to award doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees.
1985, renamed China Textile University. 1998 entered the national "2 1 1 project" key construction universities. 1999, renamed Donghua University. 20 17 was selected as a "double first-class" construction university in China.
