History of Huazhong University
187 1 year, the Anglican Church established Boone Memorial School in Tanhualin, wuchang city, Hubei.

1885, the British Methodist Church also opened Bowen College in Wuchang. In addition, the college founded by the London Institution in Hankou is called the three major missionary schools in Wuhan. At the beginning of the 20th century, all three universities offered university courses.

1906 Yale yali club opened yali university in Changsha, Hunan. The American Guangfu Association also opened Lakeside University in Yueyang.

Among these schools, Wenhua College run by Wuchang Episcopal Church is relatively large. In the early buildings, the Church of the Christmas has been well preserved. At the beginning of the 20th century, the teaching building, Wenhua Public Library (Library), Zhaige Fitness Center, Sodoma Room, Bo Yue Room and Mu Yan Room were built one after another.

1924, Wenhua College was renamed Huazhong University.

1924 Hankou erudite college merged with Wuchang bowen college.

1929 Yueyang Binhu College merged with Changsha Yali College.

During the period of 1926, the two lakes were severely hit by the xenophobic movement, and the above schools were forced to close for a time. Later, we jointly run a school in Wuchang Wenhua Campus, and the school name is Huazhong University.

Huazhong Normal School is formed by College, Nanchang University, South China Normal University, Pingyuan Normal University and Hainan Normal University.

1953, Huazhong Normal University was renamed Huazhong Normal University.

Later, Huazhong Normal University (now Huazhong Normal University) moved out of the city, and the former Huazhong University campus was changed to Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

1970 As a part of South-Central University for Nationalities, Hubei Normal University and Hubei Correspondence College merged.

1985, the school was renamed as Huazhong Normal University, and its name was inscribed by Deng Xiaoping.
