The National University of Defense Technology of PLA (hereinafter referred to as the National University of Defense Technology) is located in Changsha City, Hunan Province. It is a comprehensive military university directly led by the Central Military Commission of the Chinese Production Party, and has always been a key institution for national and military construction.
It is one of the key construction projects in the First Five-Year Plan 156 and one of the 20 key universities in China identified by the Central Committee 1959.
It is the first batch of institutions in the State Council that have the right to award master's and doctor's degrees, the first batch of pilot graduate schools in China, the first batch of institutions that have entered the national "2 1 1 Project" construction plan, the only institution in the whole army that has entered the ranks of the national "985 Project" construction, and the institutions that are supported by the national "double-class" construction.
In April, 2023, official website showed that the school has eight disciplines and 6 1 undergraduate majors. There are 17 postdoctoral research stations, 26 first-class doctoral programs and 23 first-class master programs; There are five first-class disciplines, three national key disciplines in two disciplines and two national key (cultivation) disciplines; There are 29 academicians of the two academies.

National University of Defense Technology has achieved a large number of independent innovation achievements represented by Tianhe series supercomputer system, key technologies of Beidou satellite navigation and positioning system, Tiantuo series micro-nano satellites, laser gyro, ultra-precision machining and maglev train, which has made important contributions to China's "two bombs and one satellite" and manned space flight.
Tianhe-2 supercomputer system developed by our school won the title of world supercomputer for six consecutive times. According to official website information in June, 2065438+July, the library of National University of Defense Technology has established a document resource system with key disciplines of science and engineering as the core, featuring military documents, and the coordinated development of science, engineering, military, literature, management, economics and philosophy, and printed more than 3.3 million kinds of documents.
Every year, there are more than 2.3 million books in Chinese and foreign languages, 900,000 microfilms, 654.38+million printed scientific and technological reports and internal materials, and more than 3,400 current Chinese and foreign periodicals are ordered. A digital library including 98 large-scale comprehensive databases and 160 multi-topic databases or sub-databases has been built.
