Specialized University (_ Xiu University, せんしゅぅだぃがく, English: Senshu University) is a famous private university, headquartered in Shenbao Town, Kanda, Chiyoda District, Tokyo. The school originated from 1880, and 1922 was established as a university. One of the few universities in Japan with a century-old history and tradition. It is also a famous private university which is a member of Tokyo 12 University.

The name of the school comes from the purpose of "specializing in one subject and exploring the mystery of knowledge" advocated by founder Li. At the beginning of the school, it was famous for its law department and economics department. The spirit of establishing a school is "repaying kindness to be an official" and the style of study is "solid, powerful, honest and pragmatic". Former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama used to be a full professor in this school. The Japanese film "をつくろぅis" is adapted from the history of this university.

After the establishment of the school, due to the surge in enrollment, the school moved to Kanda Campus. 1888 increased the campus, and the school gate was changed into a black crown wooden door. At that time, Imperial University (now Tokyo University) was called "Red Gate" by its school gate, and specialized schools (now specialized universities) were called "Black Gate" by its school gate. This word is still widely used to refer to specialized universities. The annual celebration held in the spring of university is also called "Black Gate Festival". This school gate has been restored and kept in Kanda Campus.
