Northeast Forestry University was founded in July, 1952, formerly known as Northeast Forestry College. It was established on the basis of the Forestry Department of Zhejiang University Agricultural College and the Forestry Department of Northeast Agricultural College, and was directly managed by the former State Forestry Department.
