Extended data

With the consent of the State Council, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission issued the Implementation Measures for Promoting the Construction of World-class Universities and First-class Subjects as a Whole. In other words, "985" and "2 1 1" which have been implemented for many years will be further diluted and gradually withdrawn from the historical stage. Since then, the double-class list has become the focus of attention of major universities.

The "double first-class" universities are produced by competitive optimization, expert selection, government comparison and dynamic screening, and the identification standards for building first-class universities are demonstrated by focusing on the evaluation of China's characteristic disciplines, especially the evaluation that reflects personnel training and academic level, with due reference to international evaluation, taking into account factors such as national strategy, urgent need of industry regions and irreplaceability. According to the evaluation criteria, the list of 137 first-level discipline construction universities was selected, and the disciplines to be built were generated accordingly.
