Shanxi Agricultural University (SXAU), referred to as Shanxi Agricultural University for short, is a national key university established by Shanxi Provincial People's Government, China Municipal People's Government and China Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and has been selected into the education and training plan of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents and the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions.
It is the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, excellent universities in undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of Education, universities implementing the national innovation and entrepreneurship training plan for college students, national agricultural and rural informatization demonstration bases, pilot universities for comprehensive reform of higher education in Shanxi Province, "133 1 project" universities in Shanxi Province, provincial demonstration base for mass entrepreneurship and innovation, and members of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance.
The school was founded on 1907. It was originally named private Mingxian School, and its founder was Kong Xiangxi. Later, it developed into a private Ming County Agricultural College and a private Ming County Academy. 195 1, changed from private to public, and established Shanxi Agricultural College; 1979 was renamed Shanxi Agricultural University and listed as a national key university.
