This major is an old one. It was not opened at first, but only after the State Council granted special permission for national defense.

As for what to learn, personally, I think the curriculum design is not very reasonable, and there are some courses that are completely unnecessary to learn, such as thermodynamics and statistical physics. As for employment, needless to say, counterpart enterprises are in urgent need of talents in this field, such as Midea, Zhenhua Yuguang, Kunshan Guoli, Nanjing Sanle and several research institutes. But the salary will not be very high, after all, it is not a great major.

Of course, you can choose to study again and change your major. Several students in our class want to change majors, including me. The content of this major is to study vacuum tubes and traveling wave tubes, both of which are powerful things. So it is very easy to learn the related courses of electromagnetic field and microwave technology.
