Introduction to English Translation Examination;

At present, there is only one English language translation test in the national foreign language translation certificate examination, which contains six certificates, which are divided into two categories: translation and interpretation, and each category contains three grades, namely: primary translation certificate, intermediate translation certificate and advanced translation certificate; Primary interpretation certificate, intermediate interpretation certificate and advanced interpretation certificate.

Primary interpretation or translation

Although those who pass the course have not received professional translation training, they can undertake the interpretation of general conversations or the translation of general materials. The subjects of the examination are English majors, students who have passed CET-6 for non-English majors and other English learners (workers) with the same level.

Intermediate interpretation or intermediate translation

Those who pass the course have a certain professional translation training foundation, can be competent for interpretation in many occasions, and the interpretation quality is high; Or basically competent in the translation of various non-professional materials, with high translation quality. The subjects of the examination are English majors or graduate students and other English learners (workers) with the same level.

Advanced interpretation or translation

Successful interpreters have received strict professional translation training, have certain interpretation practice, can be competent for interpretation or simultaneous interpretation in various occasions, and have high interpretation quality; Or competent in the translation of all kinds of documents, with high translation quality. The subjects of the examination are outstanding graduates or postgraduates majoring in English and other English learners (workers) with the same level and some practical experience in translation.
