PLA Air Force Engineering University is located in Xi 'an, the ancient capital, referred to as "Air Force University". It is a senior military academy under the leadership of the Central Military Commission and the Party Committee of the Air Force. It is a comprehensive national key university integrating engineering, literature, management, science, law and military. It is one of the five comprehensive universities built by the whole army and an open university. It is the military "2 165438".
1July, 1999, approved by the Central Military Commission, was formed by the merger of the former Air Force Engineering College, Air Force Missile College and Air Force Telecommunication Engineering College.

The school consists of six colleges, including Aviation Engineering College, Air Defense and Anti-missile College, Information and Navigation College, Air Traffic Control Pilot College, Equipment Management and UAV Engineering College, Graduate School, Aviation Maintenance NCO School, Basic Department and Military and Political Basic Department, with 28 undergraduate majors (directions).
