1, Fudan University, Shanghai University
The school is located in Shanghai, a municipality directly under the Central Government. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), and is directly managed by the central government. The school, formerly known as Fudan College, was founded in 1905. It is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning independently established by the people in China.
1952 after the adjustment of departments, the school has become a comprehensive university focusing on basic teaching and research of arts and sciences. In 2000, Fudan University merged with Shanghai Medical University, the fourth national medical college of Sun Yat-sen University founded by 1927, to form a new Fudan University.
