Located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, Southwest Jiaotong University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and a national "world-class discipline construction university". The school has a long history and originated from 1896 Shanhaiguan Beiyang Railway Official School. Transportation engineering is its world-class discipline construction specialty. In the fourth round of discipline evaluation, Southwest Jiaotong University ranked transportation engineering as A+ and civil engineering as A-, ranking among the top universities in China.
