The study was published in the journal of scientific translational medicine.

They implanted cultured deciduous teeth stem cells into injured teeth.

It was found that the implanted stem cells regenerated different components of dental pulp, including dentin, connective tissue and blood vessels. Even make the necrotic roots continue to develop.

The functional regeneration of whole pulp tissue was successfully realized, and nearly 50 patients were treated, with an effective rate of over 95%.

In addition, nerve regeneration, bone regeneration and blood vessel regeneration have been realized, and they have been applied to the research and treatment of liver and lung diseases.

At present, deciduous teeth stem cells have been used to treat pulp regeneration, periodontal regeneration, central nervous system injury, neurodegenerative diseases, corneal regeneration, myocardial infarction, liver fibrosis, rheumatoid arthritis, bone and cartilage regeneration, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, systemic immune diseases, endocrine diseases, acute respiratory distress, autoimmune encephalomyelitis and acute renal failure.

In April, 2020, at the Sichuan Science and Technology Awards Conference, the project "Tooth Regeneration Research Based on Stem Cells" presided by Professor Tian Weidong won the first prize of Sichuan Science and Technology Progress in 20 19.

From the discovery of deciduous teeth stem cells to today, it has been so remarkable in just nearly 20 years.
