Caotang Campus is located in the eco-tourism belt at the northern foot of Qinling Mountains, next to the expressway of Guanzhong Ring Road. It is about 15km southwest of the High-tech Zone, and is connected by Xifeng Highway and Huanshan Road. On the west side of the campus is Caotang Industrial Park in High-tech Zone, which is about 7 kilometers away from Huxian County and connected by county roads. To the north is Northwestern Polytechnical University (located in Dongda Town, adjacent to the school); To the northeast is Ocean College (under construction); The campus is adjacent to Caotang Temple in the west and across the Taiping River from Caotang Industrial Park in High-tech Zone. To the east, it faces Yu Xiang, Zigeyu and Gaoguan Waterfall across the mountain road. Caotangying Village is located in the southeast.

The north side of the campus is the east-west main road of the park, the west side is the current road, and the south side is the highway around the mountain. The whole campus is surrounded by the water system formed by Gaoguan Valley, Yu Xiang, Zige Valley and Taiping Valley. The surrounding farmland and wetland "Hutai No.8" grape base show a good ecological environment at the northern foot of Qinling Mountains.

Caotang Campus covers an area of 180 hectares, about 27 13.2 mu, with the widest from east to west1.450m and the widest from north to south1.700m.. The whole campus is high in the south and low in the north, high in the east and low in the west, with a maximum gap of 30 meters between the north and the south. The total planned construction area of the campus is 991.300m2. According to the positioning of a complete university, it will be a full-time undergraduate education base of the school after completion, which can meet the needs of nearly 30 thousand teachers and students.
