After completion, it will become the largest and most powerful earthquake simulation research facility for major projects in the world, which is of great significance for ensuring the safety of major projects such as civil engineering, water conservancy, ocean and transportation.

The device will be built in Beiyangyuan Campus of Tianjin University, with a total construction area of 77,000 square meters and a construction period of 5 years.
