School introduction
Southwest Jiaotong University, referred to as "Southwest Jiaotong University", is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), which is jointly established by the Ministry of Education, China Railway Corporation, Sichuan Provincial People's Government and Chengdu Municipal People's Government. It was rated as "double first-class", "2 1 1 engineering" and 985 engineering advantage discipline innovation platform.

The school has 27 colleges (institutes and centers) and 94 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines including engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law, art, agriculture and medicine.

In addition, nearly 50 academicians of China Academy of Sciences and Academy of Engineering and Nobel Prize winners were employed as part-time (honorary) professors.
Teaching construction
There are 74 majors in the school that have entered the construction site of the "Double Hundred Thousand Plan" for national first-class undergraduate majors, including the national major 12, four major comprehensive reform pilots, the major of excellent engineer education and training plan 17, and the major of engineering education certification 17.
