The "Tell Your Story" series of activities sponsored by the Canadian Women Writers Association shows the stories of 25 women writers, with stories and surprises every week. Every story is a writer's mental journey and a legendary life of women.

202 1.8.7 In the 26th scene, Song Yu, vice-president of Canadian Women Writers Association, told her story.

Please read your profile first:

Song Yu, from Beijing, has been a project manager in a foreign company for 20 years. Immigrated to Vancouver, hosted the international children's postcard exhibition, and worked as a reporter for Lohas, Dugao and her hometown. He is currently the founding vice chairman of the Canadian Women Writers Association and the deputy secretary general of the Canadian Capital Cultural Association.

The following contents are arranged according to Song Yu's voice sharing in the Canadian Women Writers Association.

Hello, friends of Canadian Women Writers Association, I am Song Yu, and I thank Sister Li Lang for giving me this opportunity. These two days, I calmed down and sorted out some life fragments. Today is August 7th, 20021year. Let me tell my story.

A carefree compound life

I was born in Beijing and live in a research compound. My parents are southerners and were assigned to work in Beijing after graduating from college. It is a compound word of southern accent and northern accent. My parents and colleagues come from all over the world. During the Spring Festival, I will follow my parents to many colleagues' homes to pay New Year greetings and eat delicious food from different regions. Our parents' work compound is separated from ours by a wall. A handsome uncle of the People's Liberation Army stood guard at the gate and later became an armed police soldier. There are many morning glories, peach blossoms and pear blossoms in the yard, which are very beautiful.

Our primary school is also a children's primary school in this compound. I remember that every August 1, the school will organize us to go to the work compound to give a condolence performance to the PLA. I still remember that we would tell us stories in the auditorium of our parents' work compound, and our favorite grandfather Sun Jingxiu would listen to the performance of the Second Artillery Art Troupe with his own eyes. I remember a soprano Zhang Baomo.

There is a big open-air cinema in our compound, separated by a wall. There are movies every week. We will take stools to occupy the land in advance, and sometimes we will hide behind curtains to watch movies when there is no room. I remember the most popular place is Shaolin Temple, where people are sitting on fences. I have also seen Yesenia in Mexico, Broken Blue Bridge in the United States, Huangmei Opera, Ma Xu, Yue Opera, Dream of Red Mansions, Kunqu Opera and San Xiao in Hong Kong. There are many domestic movies, such as Ding Dong in Spring and Long Live Youth.

We go to Beijing Zoo, Military Museum and Beihai every spring outing. It would be cool if you brought vitamin bread. Our school will also organize us to watch children's plays. I remember Twelve Months and Malanhua were performances of China Children's Art Theatre. Like Shan Zenghong, Liang Yan and Cai Guoqing all attended the summer camp organized by our school, and we also went to the concert hall in Zhongshan Park.

Parents sometimes take turns on business trips, but on the whole, they feel that their parents have a harmonious work life and come home from work on time to cook for us. My father is a typical intellectual. He works and studies all day, writes well and likes playing chess. He was a full-time researcher when he retired. My mother is a cheerful, optimistic and determined woman. She is the backbone of our family. She finally retired as an associate researcher. To tell the truth, they are all more accomplished and knowledgeable than I am now.

We live in a warm harbor, which is a carefree day.

When we come home from school and do our homework for an hour, we will immediately join the activities of our classmates at home, jumping rubber bands and throwing sandbags. I remember that after watching Zi San Si Lang, I would practice chopping small boards and bricks with my classmates at home and compete with boys. I will sing Japanese songs after watching "Blood Suspicion", and I will hum the theme song every day after watching "Volleyball Girl", and my blood will boil all day.

When I was a child, another girl and I always went to school together and left school together. We are both among the best in grades, so you chase me. My parents study chemical engineering, and my literary background is actually average, but I have one characteristic: I read quickly. I borrow a book from the school library almost every day, and I also buy children's literature and youth literature regularly. Think about that time, I still remember drafting a novel, but it was just the beginning.

In middle school, I lived in a century-old school, studied for six years, and rode to school every day. There are lakes, lilac trees, elm leaves, plums and many old buildings in red and gray in that school. I remember we all endorsed by the lake or the pavilion by the lake. It was really a period of youth.

He has participated in the celebration of120th anniversary,130th anniversary and140th anniversary. The school is becoming more and more beautiful, constantly being repaired and covered with green grass. But the most regrettable thing is that I didn't participate in the commemoration of Canada150th anniversary, and I still regret it. I should fly back to attend.

I majored in engineering in college and financial management in master's degree, both of which have little to do with literature.

The workplace of foreign companies is smooth sailing.

I am 23 years old. I graduated from college. I didn't enter a design institute or a state-owned enterprise like most people. Instead, I stepped directly into a foreign company and started my career as a multinational company.

As soon as I entered the workplace, I went to the operation department of China headquarters. At that time, China headquarters had just been established, and it began to manage 2 1 branches in China. In addition to the director, I work as a project assistant in the operation department of the headquarters, and follow the leaders to do projects everywhere, that is, push the projects in the Asia-Pacific region to various branches.

Foreign companies have a high level of business. They all stay in five-star hotels and fly with their leaders. At that time, the hotel's salary for one night was more than my salary for one month. I just graduated at that time, and the leaders didn't ask much of me. Every time I travel to a new place on business, I will arrange local colleagues to accompany me out for a day, taste local food and go shopping.

I've only been working for less than a year, and I've been on a business trip to train my colleagues in the branch. After the sixth year, I was promoted to project manager, which was really smooth.

Up to now, my foreign neighbors know little about China. In fact, at that time, in our China headquarters, there were many foreigners at all levels of management, while in the Asia-Pacific headquarters, foreigners from all countries would come to China for meetings and training. I remember once in the elevator on a business trip in Shanghai, we looked at it and said with a smile, "Wow, there are people from five countries."

At that time, I will also use weekends as a part-time tour guide to meet foreign tourists at the Friendship Hotel. Take them to visit the Summer Palace, the Great Wall and the Ming Tombs. At that time, outsiders came to Beijing as a family. It is common for foreigners to come to China, whether in the United States or Britain. All our internal documents and emails are in English, and so are the meetings. Colleagues in China also like to chat in Chinese and English. Although we had never been abroad at that time. In fact, my English has deteriorated since I came to Canada. When I have time, I want to write my career story.

Before marriage, I often wandered around Sanlitun with Faxiao. Disco dancing was very popular at that time. I often go to the Great Wall Hotel, Kunlun Hotel, bananas and nightclubs to dance disco. I often go skating in Beihai and Guo Mao, or play badminton in the gym. I made an appointment with my classmates to go to Shijingshan amusement park to play crazy mice and pirate ships. Wow, it was a youthful time full of expectations for the future!

After graduation, middle school students got together again, especially in other classes. I chose the Yuyang Hotel next to my company at the right place, so I also participated. As a result, I met my prince charming again. He is a tall boy in the same grade and has never spoken. Then get married and have children.

Immigrating to Canada to find a new life coordinate.

The world is so big, I always want to go out and see more, broaden my horizons and change my life. In 20 15, we made up our minds to quit our stable jobs in China and immigrate to Canada.

My English level at that time was ESL7. As soon as I arrived in Vancouver, I took the initiative to participate in various community activities, organized some activities, such as children's postcard exhibition, and often participated in the activities of the Canadian Capital Cultural Association. I worked as a host, wrote some copywriting and reported activities, so I met Lohas's boss, who is also from Beijing. At his invitation, I became a reporter of Lohas.

I remember at a class reunion in China, one of my classmates said that you are very suitable to be a reporter because you are good at asking questions and the other party is willing to open up. I didn't expect this joke to come true in Wenhua Pavilion.

I am an active person. Being a reporter seems particularly suitable for me. Participate in speeches, debates and forums of various parliamentary candidates, write some political articles, and also interview parliamentarians to write about his/her day's ticket buying life and political sentiment. In a debate forum, an independent candidate from China showed me his clear independent thinking ability and super English debating ability. Follow the long outdoor team and record the happy scene of everyone walking on the fisherman's wharf at Christmas. Attend the cheung kong graduate school of business Vancouver Alumni Association Spring Festival Gala during the Spring Festival and feel the gathering time of these elites. The general election meeting of the Le Hu Youth Lions Club also showed me the dedication of these young people to public welfare undertakings. On another occasion, I participated in the Christmas activities of the old overseas Chinese community and felt their contribution to the community. For example, the Chinese Cultural Center in Greater Vancouver has always been committed to speaking out for Chinese and protecting Vancouver's Chinatown culture. During my media days, I met many talented people in Vancouver and gradually integrated into Vancouver society, at least the Chinese society.

2065438+In September 2008, at the suggestion of Sister Li Lang, we established the Canadian Women Writers Association. I think this is a particularly meaningful thing. I especially admire Sister Li Lang's tenacity, perseverance and energetic attitude, which drives us to move forward step by step. More and more friends with literary dreams have joined our team, and excellent works are constantly emerging, shared in the group and learned from each other.

In 20 18, I also returned to my old job, using my experience in China to continue to develop my ability, and my husband continued to be a reporter of Lohas. In the meantime, as a free media person, I will also publish some articles about Lohas from time to time.

As Sister Li Lang said, as long as you have a literary dream, you will take the dream as a horse and sweat as a spring, and never forget that your initiative will continue to gallop in the literary world one day. I have a dream on the road of literature. Today I think this is a good start. I will use the limited time to learn from you and strive for more good works and words. Thank you for listening to my story!

Attachment 1: member testimony

Li Lang: I envy you the first half of your life! Born in a good era, a good family and a good living and learning environment, it feels like we were born in two centuries. You and Sonia have a lot in common. Childhood blooms like a flower, but you can never make a doll. You just created a colorful world by yourself. I admire your ability and talent. I was in an important position at a young age and dared to challenge. I went abroad to Vancouver to face the second challenge in my life. I like that you are self-motivated, have a dream, take an active part in public welfare activities, and be grateful for the beautiful meeting, so that we have the fate to set up a women writers association together. Your professional experience, your experience as a reporter in Lohas, is the best writing material. I look forward to the early publication of your masterpiece!

Grass: It is a very happy thing to listen to sweet voices and tell sweet stories in the sun at the beautiful beginning of autumn afternoon. Your life is beautiful, and your childhood, youth, love and work achievements are all worthwhile! Behind the beauty, there must be efforts and efforts that others can't see. The clouds are light and the wind is light, which is the precipitation of years. I admire your integration into Canadian life in a short time, and you have made gratifying achievements. Congratulations! Thank you for your wonderful sharing!

Lucia Zhang Xia Lu: I just heard your story. My sweet voice attracted me, and my wonderful childhood story touched me. You live in a good environment, your parents have high academic qualifications, and there are guards standing at the door. School and after-school life are so rich. By reading books and watching movies, you planted a literary seed in the depths of your young heart. Although you later studied science and engineering, the sprout of literature always came from you. Writing copywriting, training and editing. You seize every opportunity. You are really a lucky dog. You met Prince Charming, and you were like-minded. I envy you and hope you can write beautiful music on the future literary road. ...

Cher: Honey, you are the legendary child in the atrium!

Mo: After listening to your story, your beautiful voice is very touching. You are lucky, your life experience and work are very smooth. Of course, you have worked hard and made continuous progress. Congratulations on your success and share your beautiful story.

Sonia:? Listening to your story really brought back too many memories. Our childhood experiences are almost the same. Our primary school often meets with soldiers of the security company. At that time, there was a company commander of the guard company, who was very energetic and amiable. We still like to tease him when we are free. Others go to the movies every day with a movie license, in the audience in winter and in the open air with a small bench in summer. After school, the children in the building jump rubber bands and play with schoolbags. We are close to Ditan, where there are children's amusement parks and many ancient trees. We hide the cat in a tree hole and the swing can be leveled. In the middle of the night, a large group of children stayed up late telling ghost stories in front of the table tennis table in the building. That's hilarious. We used to dance in those discos, bananas and so on. Maybe that's when we met. It's so interesting to say. I like your story very much. I can continue to talk when I meet you later.

Shirley: I just heard your story from my sister. I admire you for sticking to your ideals all the way. Don't forget your innovative spirit, live like it!

Diandian: Sweet and happy story, smooth career and happy life!
