The college has more than 20 teachers/kloc-0, including more than 30 professors and nearly 40 doctoral supervisors. There are 4 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 2 winners of the National Cooperation Fund for Overseas Scholars from Hong Kong and Macao, 2 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the 14th China Young Women Scientist Award 1, 2 winners of the Cross-century Excellent Talents Training Program of the Ministry of Education, 3 winners of the New Century Excellent Talents Support Program, and chinese mathematical society Zhong Jiaqing Mathematics Award. The college has more than 800 undergraduates, and nearly 400 master students and doctoral students.

Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, our institute has made remarkable achievements in the fields of function theory, partial differential equations, algebra, probability statistics, computational mathematics, etc., and has exerted a wide influence at home and abroad. In recent years, a group of young and middle-aged teachers in our college have studied partial differential equations, geometric theory of multiple complex variables, functional analysis, differential geometry and geometric analysis, differential equation cybernetics, stochastic differential equations, large deviation theory, stochastic processes, number theory and cryptography, dynamic systems, optimal decision theory, wavelet analysis and its application, numerical analysis of partial differential equations, multi-scale modeling and calculation, uncertainty theory, financial mathematics, biostatistics, computational system biology and so on.

Over the past 20 years, the College has won the International attiya Prize 1, 2 national natural science awards, nearly 40 provincial and ministerial natural science awards and scientific and technological progress awards, and nearly 20 national, provincial and ministerial teaching achievement awards.

In 2007, the subject of "Basic Mathematics" was rated as two national key disciplines. In 2008, the subject of "Mathematics" in our college was rated as a first-class provincial key subject, and the subject of "Basic Mathematics" was rated as an advantageous subject in two disciplines and Hubei universities.
