Guiyang University is a city-based full-time general higher education institution approved by the people of China and the Ministry of Education. 1902, Mr. Li Duanfen, a pioneer of Peking University, founded Guiyang Public Normal School, which was later renamed Guiyang Normal School. 1978, approved by the Ministry of Education, Guiyang Teachers College was established, 1985 was renamed Guiyang Teachers College, and 1993 was renamed Guiyang Teachers College.
