The PLA Army Medical University, located in the beautiful landscape city of Chongqing, China, is a military medical university with glorious history and distinctive military characteristics. It is the first batch of national key universities after the founding of New China, and one of the key construction institutions of the "2 1 10 Project" of the army.

The school was formed by the merger of the former Sixth and Seventh Military Medical Universities 1954. The former Sixth Military Medical University was the Fourth Field Army Medical College and the former National Zhongzheng Medical College, and the former Seventh Military Medical University was the Second Field Army Medical University. 1975 was renamed the third military medical university, and 20 17 was renamed the army military medical university, keeping the name of the third military medical university.
