The Medical College of Sichuan University, formerly known as West China Medical University directly under the former Ministry of Health, is one of the first four comprehensive key medical universities listed in the national "2 1 1 Project". It originated from the private Huaxi Union Medical College founded by five church organizations, including the United States, Britain and Canada, at Huaxi Dam in Chengdu on 19 10. It is the earliest comprehensive medical university in China and one of the pioneers of modern higher medical education in China.

Every medical department has a tutor. The Medical College of Sichuan University takes the campus scientific and cultural activities of "Wind of Clinical Medicine" as the carrier, strengthens the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality, and forms a unique and systematic quality education model for medical students. The comprehensive quality of students has improved significantly, and they have won many national awards in the "Challenge Cup" business plan competition, national English competition, national college students' debate competition, model United Nations and other national quality education competitions.
