What is the gpa of self-taught students studying in the United States?
The GPA of self-taught students studying in the United States is the same as that of ordinary students.

GPA means average score. The average score is not the same as usual. The most basic difference is that the average score is the total score divided by the number of courses. And the calculation of GPA involves the number of courses, course scores and course credits.

For example, you take four courses this semester (credits are also hypothetical): 3 credits for physics, 6 credits for mathematics, 2 credits for English, and 0/credit for physical education. According to the China University 100 scale, the scores are 79, 85, 90 and 60 respectively. According to China University, the average score is 79+85+90+60/4=78.5.

GPA conversion is based on the 4-point system (the following is just a general format, and some universities have more detailed formats):

100 -90: 4.0

89-80: 3.0 (some universities are more detailed, such as 89-85: 3.5)

79-70: 2.0(79-75: 2.5)

69-60: 1.0

Below 60, in China, the routine is to fail, so the grade point is 0.

According to the above conventional format, GPA is converted into:

(Physics 79 points) 2.0X3 credits+(Mathematics 85)3.0X6 credits+(English 90)4.0X2 credits+(PE 60) 1 credits/total credits 12 points = 2.75.

It can be seen that the average score algorithm of GPA and China is completely different. Courses with more credits (indicating that this course is important), so low scores will affect GPA;; If it is a course with few credits, the score is low, which has little impact on GPA.

GPA is more scientific than the average score algorithm of China University, and it can truly reflect students' learning status in this major.
