According to official website of East China University of Political Science and Law, the dormitory for freshmen of East China University of Political Science and Law is uniformly allocated by the school, and there is no dormitory that can be reserved according to major and gender. East China University of Political Science and Law is the first batch of higher political science and law institutions established in New China. 1In June, 952, with the approval of the East China Military Commission, the law departments, political departments and social departments of nine universities including St. John's University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Soochow University, Xiamen University, Hujiang University, Anhui University, Shanghai University and Aurora University merged, and East China University of Political Science and Law was established in the former site of St. John's University. 1958, the school was merged into Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences; 1963 rebuilt, enrolled students the following year; 1966 to stop enrollment, 1972 to cancel enrollment; 1March, 979, with the approval of the State Council, the school resumed classes for the second time. In March 2007, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed East China University of Political Science and Law.
